It was a Pleasant Sunny Day of 24th December, a Chilly yet Enjoyable day, when we decided to Take a break from our Busy life to have a wonderful time together.
Me and my wife were envy of everyone going to Different places on their X-mas Holidays, which we could not have because of prior commitments in our Professional Lives.
But not be left behind in sharing our Stories with the others on the gossip table,we zeroed in on the SARISKA at ALWAR which was not far away from our Place at Gurgaon, yet so medieval and naturist to give a refreshing retreat to our self.
When packing in winters we find our Bags having Less cloths and Heavy woolens.
it takes a 1 hour journey of around 50 km till Bhiwadi on NH 8 , where we take our first turn and Zoom on the ALWAR MEGA HIGHWAY SH till Alwar Town.
To reach Sariska from Alwar, one need to take Highway to Jaipur and its 35 Km from the main Alwar town. last 3 Km before the Sariska base camp is in such a bad that it kills all your excitements you made zooming past the empty stretches of road.
there are 2 Safaris being organised every single day in different time slots during different parts of the year.
the ticket window opens 1 hour before the Time of the safari and one need to reach well before time specially on Saturday,Sunday and any major holiday.
One can enjoy the ride on a 6 seater Gypsy or 20 seater Canter.
After doing all the Plus and Minus of Ticket, one rides on the Gypsy or canter and move towards the Nature Trail in Sariska.
It covers an area of 800 sq km in total, with a core area of approximately 500 sq km. The Northern Aravali Hills dominate the skyline with their mixture of sharp cliffs and long narrow valleys.
The area was declared a sanctuary in 1955 and became a National Park in 1979.
The topography of Sariska supports scrub-thorn arid forests, dry deciduous forests, rocks and grasses. The broad range of wildlife here is a wonderful example of ecological adoption and tolerance, for the climate here is variable as well as erratic.
Sariska Boasts a rich and varied bird life. These include Peafowl, Grey Partridge, Bush Quail, Sand Grouse, Tree Pie, Golden backed Wood Pecker, Crested Serpent Eagle and the Great Indian Horned Owl
Sariska National Park is home to numerous animals including Leopard, Wild Dog, Jungle Cat, Hyena, Jackal, and Tiger. These feed on an abundance of prey species such as Sambar, Chitel, Nilgai, Chausingha, Wild Boar and Langur. Sariska is also well known for its large population of Rhesus Monkeys.
Besides all the thing written, one feels Delighted to witness the magic Moment ,when you find a Living Tiger walking past you ,without even thinking of you.
this magic moment also came to us we were lucky among all the groups to witness the BIG CAT, for whom every one has come so far.
Finally our day was made.
